4Use this a lot
By T. Snyder
I bought this appliance about a year ago and have used it a lot. We love it. It works great as a regular toaster, and as an egg poacher. The sides are cool to the touch. I really only have one minor complaint and that is that if you use it to cook and egg and toast / muffin at the same time, the bread is done much quicker than the egg and cools off too much - this isn't a big deal though - just do the egg and then do the bread right after - that works just fine because the egg is nice & hot and needs a few seconds to cool off anyway. All around happy with this purchase.

5really like this
By colleen zane
I really like this--I've wanted it for a while and when I moved I realized that for the price it would pay for itself in 4-5 breakfasts (sandwhich and coffee).

It toasts and it poaches my egg (which i didn't think I would like as I usually perfer my eggs over hard or scrambled) but you can scammble the egg or break the yolk and poach it to your preference. I ususally also use the steam (warming) tray for spinach to put in my sandwhich for a little extra taste. It shuts off when the water is gone and your egg is done. and i'm good to go.

super quick, easy, minimal clean-up
very happy with my purchase :)

2This is the same exact device as the Back to Basics Brand - see my review there.
By LL Cool Jack
I'm a breakfast girl. I make a breakfast meal every single day, french toast, fresh fruit, eggs, etc.
So, when I saw this nifty device I was over the moon. Not only did it mean fast food in my kitchen it also meant that there was a chance my 9 yr. old could make his own breakfast. We've had the toaster for 2 weeks. Here's what I've found:

1)Egg pan: The pan is adequate, although I wish it was a bit bigger and felt less toy-like. In spite of the size the pan easily holds 2 large eggs. As some mentioned, the pan does stick a little but it doesn't bother me. You do need to grease the pan before using.
**Update- Within 2 weeks of my original review the pan started flaking. I've only used a light duty sponge on this and hand washed. The Teflon coating is now all bubbled and the pan is unusable. I've never seen non-stick bubble like this.

2)Toaster:
-Toaster & Egg Setting: Cold bread/muffins, however, is an issue for me. When I read rev iews complaining about cold toast I rolled my eyes at the boo-hooing. It turns out that cold toast actually does cause me to whine. With the egg/toast option selected, when the toast is done the toaster turns off but doesn't fully eject the bread. The idea is that the heat from the cooking eggs will keep the toast warm. Sadly, I've found that the egg heat is enough to dry the bread out but not enough to keep it warm. When I finally remove the toast it's stiff, has no warm bend to it and the edges have a noticeable brittle, dry crunch.

-Toast only: The toaster actually toasts very quickly. It's annoying that the toaster doesn't pop the bread out high enough, especially English muffins. I have to take a utensil, skew the top of the bread and lift it out. It also leaves untoasted lines on the bread. The heater coils are held in place by a metal frame. The way the frame is designed it shields the heat, think of tan lines on a person, except these are very thin, v ertical lines. It's not a big deal at all, it's just weird looking.

3)Cooking Eggs: Hard boiled eggs come out fine, as do hard poached or scrambled. However, soft poached eggs (which I adore) aren't to my liking at all. In order to have the eggs end up with a soft yolk you end up with clear egg white slime - think sunny side. I hate that. When you poach an egg on the stove top it causes the egg white to delicately cook all around the yolk, leaving NO clear egg slime. To counter this, I simply don't make soft eggs, but cook them over-hard.

4) Meat Steam Tray: This works fine for me. I eat veggie sausage which cooks quickly and has no juices to drip. My husband doesn't like to heat his regular pork sausage in this as he says the sausage drips sausage-water onto his egg. He'd rather just heat the patty in the microwave. When bacon is heated in the steam basket it becomes soft, so we don't use this for bacon. Canadian bacon or ham is really what this steam tray is made for so that is mostly what we use it for.

Ultimately this device leaves me less than impressed. Maybe there's a learning curve. In the spirit of fairness I'm going to give it another few weeks and will update my review in a month.
***Update 1/21/13: I'm returning this item. It's just not worth the money...so disappointing.
